Microsoft Query

The absence of software updates can cause Microsoft Query to crash. It is recommended to install the latest available updates for developer products.

Setting a default program by file type in Windows

1. Right-click your file, then navigate to the "Open With" option and click "Choose Another Application" to continue;
2. Find the Microsoft Query application in the pop-up window and select it as your preferred program;
3. Select the "Always use this application" check box and click "OK" to save your selection as the default application for opening files.

Change the default app that opens a file on Mac

1. Right click or use Control + Left Click on the desired file to access a dropdown menu of actions;
2. Select "Open in application" and click "Other";
3. At the bottom of the window, you will find the "Enable" menu. Default, will be set to "Recommended Programs";
4. Within this menu, select "All Programs" and then locate Microsoft Query. Check the box next to "Always open in app" to set it as the default program.
