IAR Embedded Workbench Kickstart

The absence of software updates can cause IAR Embedded Workbench Kickstart to crash. It is recommended to install the latest available updates for developer products.

Changing Default Programs in Windows

1. Right-click your file, then navigate to the "Open With" option and click "Choose Another Application" to continue;
2. In the pop-up window, select the IAR Embedded Workbench Kickstart application;
3. Check the "Always use this app" checkbox and click "OK".

Change default apps on Mac

1. Right click or Control + left click on the desired file;
2. Select "Open in application" and click "Other";
3. Look at the bottom of the window, where you will see the "Enable" menu. "Recommended Programs" will be selected as the default option;
4. In this menu, select "All Programs", then find IAR Embedded Workbench Kickstart and check the box next to "Always open in the application."
